William and Frances are listed in the 1850 Tippah County, Mississippi census, living among their Wade and King relatives. 1850 Census, Tippah County, Mississippi, Southern Division 538/538 William Waid, 22, M, Farmer, $350, GA Francis, 19, F, SC Alexander M., 10/12, M, MS
William's Civil War record is very brief. It states that he was a private in Company A, 3rd Battalion Mississippi. Minute Men (State Troops), enlisting July 29, 1862 at Aberdeen, Mississippi by Captain Sims. He was never paid, but was discharged on a surgeons certificate of disability on September 21, 1862.
It is not known exactly how many children he had. We do know there was a son named Alexander M., born August or September 1849. The old family history written by Paul Wade states; "William had one son named Milas and one named David. Milas went out West."
He died 28 June 1863, probably in Chickasaw, Monroe or Lowndes County, Mississippi.

Will Ticer, a nephew of Elvira Candace Ticer, who at the time of this research was 101 years old, wrote the following account of T. A. J. Wade. Thomas Andrew Jackson "Andy" Wade was a Christian preacher. He kept a blacksmith shop, was a shoemaker, that kept him out of the Civil War. Later he moved to New Albany, Mississippi, when the Frisco Railroad was built in 1875-1880 and ran a shop there until he moved to Memphis, where he and Peron worked for the James & Graham Wagon Company. When he moved back to New Albany, he lived with Addie Coker's family and died there and is buried at New Albany
Miss Bert Wade related an interesting story about this second marriage. It seems that Andy had been dating Cornelia, and when he proposed to her she took him up immediately. They sat in the parlor and made plans for the wedding and it was quite late when Andy left. When he got about halfway home, he abruptly turned around and went back to Cornelia's house. He knocked on the door, and when Cornelia answered, he took no time for greetings or formalities. He only raised his hand and shook his forefinger at her and said, "And you are not to interfere with my religion in any way." After saying this, he turned and left. And so it goes, she abided by this rule.
Andy was a Christian preacher and he wrote sermonettes for the "New Albany Gazette" and the "Union County Times." He conducted gospel meetings through northern Mississippi and southern Tennessee. These meeting were meticulously scheduled so he could visit with his children, who were settled in these areas. His favorite pasttime was sitting o the from porch in the late afternoon and telling the stories about his parents, kinfolks and ancestors.
In 1854 when Phillip Wade sold his farm and moved southward into Chickasaw County, T. A. J. Wade chose not to go with him, but to stay in the Tippah County area, living in the southern part of the county. He and Elvira with their ten children are on the 1860 and 1870 census of Tippah County. When Union County was created from the southern tip of Tippah County, Andy, Cornelia and family were captured in the 1880 census. Andy and Cornelia had one child, a son named Arthur, whose mentality ws maladjusted. He died young.
