Mrs. Lula Mae Sheets, 67, widow of Forrest Sheets and a resident of this county, died Monday morning at 11:45 o'clock Mrs. Samuel Switzer, in Nicholasville following an illness of the at the residence of her daughter, past year.

She was a native of this county born Aug. 21, 1888, the daughter of the late Sarah Miller Stigers and John Stigers. She had lived in Shelby County all of her life except for the past three and a half months that she had been in Nicholasville with her daughter.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Samuel Switzer of Nicholasville, Mrs. Frank Rodgers, and Mrs. Mary Lee White, both of Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. Chancellor Moore and Mrs. Walter Haydon, both of Shelby County; two brothers, Luther and Curt Stigers, both of Franklin County; nine grand children, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sheets was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church.

The body is at the Harrod Bros. Funeral Home where services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. John Chenault, pastor of the First Christian Church, assisted by the Rev. T. C. Thompson of the Choateville Christian Church. Burial will be in the BagdadCemetery.

Pallbearers will be John William Stigers, Jack Moore, John F. Haydon, Lewis Adams, Harold Moore, and Russell Rodgers.

Note: Apparently Sarah Miller was the name of the first wife of my greatgrandfather, John Stigers, and the mother of Luther and Lula.4 
BurialHer body was buried in Bagdad Cemetery, Bagdad, Shelby County, Kentucky.5

Cecil J. Gordon, 53, resident of Franklin county and husband of Mrs. Mattie Pierce Gordon, died Friday morning at Louisville following a longillness.

A native of Franklin county, born April 8, 1902, he was the son of the late Washington Virch Gordon and Mrs. Lula Moore Gordon. He lived and farmed in the Bald Knob section all of his life. He had been a deacon of the Lebanon Baptist Church for the past 20 years.

Survivors include his wife; twp fdaughters, Mrs. Lillie Mae Davidson, of Muncie, Ind., Mrs. Lula Marie Campbell of Hillsboro, ILL., two sons, James Gordon, Louisville, and Orville Gordon, Frankfort; two sisters, Mrs. Orville Hopper, Bagdad, Mrs. Snook Kendall, Franklin County;step-mother, Mrs. Lizzie Gordon, of Franklin county; seven grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.

Mr. Gordon was a life long member of the Lebanon Baptist Church. The body is at Harrod Bros. Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at the Lebanon Baptist Church today at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Robert Clark, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. Roy Lyons, pastor of the Thorn Hill Baptist Church.

Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Rodgers, Otis Pulliam, Vernon Aldridge, Harold Snow, Maurice Cook, and Vernon Johnson.
Honary bearers are M.T. Semones, Gentry Lee, Owen Allison, Thomas Pulliam, Oscar Allison, H.W. Kesler, Marvin Watkins, Alex Watkins, Chester Watkins, Orville Hopper, R.D. Eastman.
