Alex A. Hedges, 84, of Graefenburg died Monday, Aug, 3, 2009, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

A native of Graefenburg, he was a farmer and truck driver for Jamison Brothers. He was a member of Graefenburg Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by brothers C.B. and Ross Hedges; sisters Frances Bullard and Virginia Masters; and a grandson, Jody L. Hedges.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary L. Newton Hedges; a daughter, Iris L. Davis of Shelbyville; sons Jerry C. Hedges and Billy R. Hedges both of Frankfort; a sister, Mary "Dolly" Hawkins, of Frankfort; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bagdad Cemetery. The Revs. Rick Clark and Keith McAliley will officiate.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. before services Thursday at LeCompte-Johnson-Taylor Funeral Home in Frankfort. The guestbook can be viewed online at ljtfuneralhome.com.3
