WM. H. RESINGER PASSES AWAY
William H. Resinger was born in Ste. Genevieve County near Chestnut Ridge, April 7, 1849, aged 66 years, 4 months and 17 days, and departed this life August 24, 1915, at the home of his neice, Mrs. Robert Boyer, about 6 miles southwest of Farmington. He has been a sufferer of Bright's disease for a number of years, being confined to his bed for the pastfour months. He united with the Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church when 18 years of age and has lived a faithful and devoted Christian life since that time.He was never known to speak evil of anyone and wa
s always ready and willingto lend a helping hand to those who were in trouble. A better friend and neighbor was never known. The life lived by Wm. Resinger is one long to be remembered by all who knew him.
He has in person departed. Yet, the bright influence of his life will forever abide with all those that had the pleasure ofknowing this noble and upright Christian man. Never again will (we) the relatives and friends at Chestnut Ridge hear the light foot falls and pleasant voice of our old neighbor and friend coming back to visit us. Yet we should grieve not, but prepare to meet him on the other shore, where parting and sorrow does not come.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. Bailey of Farmington, at 1 o'clock at the Chestnut Ridge church Wednesday afternoon; enterment at the cemetery there. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Lucinda Shannon; 2 aunts, Mrs. Ama
nda Taylor of Springfield, Ill., and Mrs. Lizzie Jones of DeSoto, Mo., besides a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his death.
He is not dead, but sleeping there,
He was not ours, but Christ's alone.
He loved him best, and took him home.
Sadly missed by all who knew him.
