Crash Into Tree Kills Nursery-School Head
A 54 year old woman was injured fatally yesterday when her automobile crashed into a tree in the 4500 block on Southern Parkway after she "blacked out."
Mrs. Pauline H Thompson, 4706 Cliff, director of Cabbage Patch Nursery School, died at 3 pm at Norton Memorial Infrimary, about half an hour after the accident.
Chief Deputy Coroner William T Kammerer said she died of a crushed chest, internal injuries, and a broken left leg.
Kammerer said Mrs. Thompson had told a physician at the infirmary shortly before she died that she had been subject to blackout spells for the past month. She had said she blacked out while driving home yesterday from the nursery school.
Mrs. Thompson had been director of the nursery school since 1948. She was a native of Shelby County and a member of Beechmont Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband, Eugene T Thompson, a civilian employee of the Louisville Police Department; two sons, Pvt. Carey Thmpson and Gene Thompson, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kesler, Bagdad, Ky. The funeral and burial will be in Bagdad.
