I.C. Employe Recently Made Yardmaster Dies
William Martin, 45 years old, 508 Winkler Avenue, who was recently appointed yardmaster here for the Illinois Central Railroad, died at 3 o'clock this morning at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital following an operation for appendicitis Saturday. Mr. Martin was promoted to yardmaster after serving as a switchman for the company for years.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Jen? Martin, Mr. Martin is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hattie Kessler; a brother, Chester Martin; a stepdaughter, Miss Ethel Hillerich, and stepson, Arthur Hillerich.
