• [S10971] Obituary of Jeff D Hudson, The Journal-Enterprise, Providence, Kentucky (January 25, 1945),
    L.W. Hudson, 72, prominent farmer of the Rock Springs community, died at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Laura Cullen, in Wheatcroft at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, following a lingering illness.
    Mr. Hudson had been a resident of Union and Webster counties all his life and had been a consistent member of Rock Spring church since boyhood.
    Surviving are his wife, Willie Truman Wallace Hudson; five sons, Ecton and Arthur of Detroit, Mich., J.M. of Patoka, Ind., Daniel of Wheatcroft, and Thomas of Rock Spring section; five daughters, Mrs. Dewey Lamb of Sturgis, Mrs. Roland Baker of Sullivan, Mrs. Carol Jenkins of Eldorado, Ill., Mrs. Wilburn Morgan of Rock Spring section, and Mrs. Elvis Holt of Kingston, Tenn. All were with him at the time of his death. Also surviving are twenty grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Hudson of Providence, and Hollis Hudson of Sturgis; and four sisters, Mrs. Fannie McClure of Montana, Mrs. Henry Edwards of Paducah, Mrs. Martha Omer of Sturgis, and Mrs. Jim Edwards of Ft. Wayne, Ind.
    Funeral services were held Monday at 11 a.m. at Rock Spring church, with the Rev. E.G. Sisk, pastor of the church, offociating.
    Pallbearers were sons-in-law and grandsons-in-law, and flower bearers were members of his Sunday School class.
    Burial was in the church cemtery.

    Mrs. Mattie B. Omer Dies In Sturgis
    Mrs. Mattie B. Omer died at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the home of a son, S.D. Omer, in Sturgis.
    Also surviving are another son, the Rev. C.C. Omer of Hodgenville; a daughter, Mrs. R.F. Griffin, Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. J.T. Edwards, Providence; brother, W.K. Hudson, Sturgis; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist church in Sturgis, with the Rev. I.L. Baughn and the Rev. Lester E. Piffer officiating.
    Burial was in Pythian Ridge cemetery, Sturgis.
