    Obituary notices in Transylvania's files state that "Died, at his residence, in Woodford county, on the 30th of June, 1859, Mr. Samual Craig, in the 63rd year of his age." and "funeral services of Charles S. Craig will take place ... September 1, 1899." Several Craigs were early students at Transylvania. A John Craig was a trustee in 1783 and 1786.
