Perrins' Biography of William D. Wade of Barren County:
William D. Wade, son of David S. and Eliza Jane (Miller) Wade, was born January 6, 1845, three miles east of Glasgow. David S. Wade was born and reared in Kentucky, and during life followed farming, milling, hotel and mercantile business. He died in October, 1874, aged sixty-three years. His father, Pierch (sic - Pierce) Wade, was a farmer, blacksmith and merchant. Mrs. Eliza Jane Wade was a daughter of George and Permelia (Wade) Miller. William D. Wade was reared on a farm until sever years of age; his parents then moved to Glasgow, where he was educated. February 2, 1869, he married Mary T., daughter of Samuel H. and Mary R. (Parham) Boles. Six children bless their union: Mary Lena, Charles B., Anna L., Samuel H., Jennie M. and William D.¹
