Elizabeth Turner Note from correspondence with Frances Cullom Harper; a descendant of Pleasants Woodward and Winifred Utley, granddaughter of William Utley and Elizabeth Turner.
There was a Titus Jennings/Tennings Turner in Wake Co., but he was too late to be the father of Elizabeth Utley. He appeared on records with Corbell Woodward. I have never found a record to prove Titus Turner as Elizabeth's father. You might want to look into the name Augustus Balthazar Turner as a possibility. There were at least three of them in Wake County and I suspect they were kin to Elizabeth Turner. One appeared as a witness on either William Utley's will or Elizabeth's will. Another married the sister of Pleasants Woodward, Mary Polly Woodward. Some of the family moved to Anson County, North Carolina.¹⁵
