He was 25 yearsold. One year later her Mother, Susan Perkins married John Shackelford.Nicholas was still alive in 1850 and was enumerated with his family inFranklin Co., Ky. However, Elizabeth was not born yet. In the 1860Census, Susan is married to John Shackelford and their families combinedare together except for Cynthia (Marr'd) and Mary A. who is not listed(13 years old), possibly has died ? Cynthia was marr'd to Benjamin her first husband in 1854. He died and in1856 she marr'd John M. Tindall. Susan, her mother was still alive, sowhy was John Shackelford , her step-father, the attest to the note ofauthorization for the Clerk of Franklin to issue their license formarriage. Perhaps it was because the marriage took place 3 months before Susan &John's first child, (John H. Shackelford) who was born in Sept. 1856 &who who then died at 9 mos. old. She may have been having pregnancyproblems at that time. ------------------------ 1850 FRANKLIN CO. KY. CENSUS-----DIST. 2-----AUG .line. 308-310--Pg.72-Roll 200 Nicholas Perkins 29 farmer Ky. Tindall, John M. Tindall, Samuel P. Tindall, Aaron F. Tindall, Mary E. Tindall, Charles W. Tindall and Zachariah G. Tindall, children and heirs of Samuel P. Tindall deceased of the other part. The record above references a sale of land between Aaron Long and Samuel P. Tindall made 31 October 1840. Evidently Aaron Long is claiming the land sold to him some nineteen years earlier. The end result is that the heirs living on that land are then separated and end up living with various members of the extended family. Mary and Charles end up with Nelson Long, and Zachariah G. ends up with a man named Monroe Tindall, whom I believe is Charles M. Tindall. From this point forward Charles and Mary seem to follow each other around central Indiana until 1882. Source for above: Jason T. Tindall, (g-grandson of Samuel P.
