Green Jones
Note Marriage record shows Susannah's name as "Lowery"; however, in 1860 a Jane Lowe (age 22) was living in the Young A. Jones household. The only Lowery family that I could find living in the Tallapoosa County area in either 1850 or 1860 was an A. J. Lowery who was a printer. His wife was named Jane. Both A. J. and Jane are shown as having been born in Tennessee. Susannah shows her place of birth as South Carolina, therefore I do not believe that she is a daughter of A. J. Lowery. In view of the Jane Lowe living in their household, I believe that Susannah was probably a Lowe.

Susannah married Green Jones in 1866 in Tallapoosa County. The bondsman was A. E. Jones. I suspect that Y. A. Jones died in the Civil War and that A. E. Jones was her father-in-law, Amos Jones. Was Green Jones one of her brothers-in-law?

Green Jones had previously married Nancy Sanders, August 22, 1848, Tallapoosa County, Alabama. Was Green the older son of Amos and Betsy whose name we do not know?1

Note Census Records (Amos was born 1797-1798):

1820 - (Amos married in Jackson County, GA, in 1821)
     1830 - Coweta County, Georgia
     1840 - Coweta County, Georgia
1850 - Talladega District, Talladega County, Alabama
1860 - Pinckneyville District, Tallapoosa County, Alabama

The 1840 census shows 3 male children in Amos' family. Two of these would be William and Young A. The third would be an older son who was in the 15-20 year age brackett in 1840. Therefore there is an older son whose name we do not know. Also, there are three female children one of whom would be Marietta. The other two are older girls, one in the 10-15 year age bracket and the other in the 15-20 year age bracket in 1840. We do not know the names of these older girls.1
