Mr. Officer crossed theplains over the old Oregon trail in pioneer days and fought Indiansduring the war with the Red Men in Oregon. Grandfather Howard alsocome across the plains and was one of the pioneers of Oregon. Mrs.Munjar was reared in Grant County and there was married to EdwardSheffield, by whom she had two children; Leroy C., who is serving inBattery E. OBITUARY - CHICO DAILY ENTERPRISE, Saturday Evening, November 13,1943: 'Services Today For Mrs. Munjar. Many old time friends were inattendance this afternoon at 2 o'clock for the services to the memoryof Mrs. Helen Mary Munjar, widely known resident of the Rock Creekdistrict, who died Thursday after a long illness in Chico.

'Rev. L. G. Morony, pastor of the First Baptist church officiated atthe services which were held in the Nugent funeral chapel. Mrs. LanceDrane was the soloist singing, 'Does Jesus Care,' and 'In the Sweet Byand By,' she was accompanied at the chapel organ by Mrs. D. D. Erwin.

'The interment was in the family plot of the Pine Creek cemeterybeside her late husband, Peter Munjar, who died in 1940. Thefollowing friends acted as casket bearers: C. L. Haynes, LeeStephenson, George Roney, George Barber, Charles Roller and WilliamSwift.²'
