On November11, 1858, Parke County, Indiana, Jeremiah Snook, age 74 years, residentof Macoupin County, Illinois declared he was the son and heir of PhilipSnook, Capt. in the NJ Militia in the Revolutionary War, that Philipvolunteered at Monmouth County in 1776 and was wounded in the Battle ofMonmouth, that Jeremiah Snook is the son of Philip by sife MargaretHeavener who married Philip in New Jersey about 1772, and that Philipdied in Scioto County, Ohio on Nov 12, 1816 and that Margaret died in thesame county and state about nov 1, 1819. The only other living childrenof Philip are Margaret Davis, Elizabeth Moore and John Snook.
