Note Fought in the Civil War as part of the 4th Regiment - Texas Mounted Volunteers. He fought in the Battle of Calcasieu Pass as is told in the book, the Big Guns of Fayette. His father was Karl von Zavisch who was bron 1815 and was raised in Austria alongside his cousin Maximillian von Hapsburg, who later become Emperor of Mexico. His father and mother (Maria) are buried in Cedar Cemetery inFayette County, Texas.

He owned land in Concho County, Texas.1
